The apps
Deep Personality. An AI personality assessment that writes a roughly 10,000-word profile. The founders say they vibe coded it but do not name the tool. They report $11K in about 30 days after launch (self-reported, Indie Hackers). A generous free preview and a feature you share with a partner drove sales. Read the Deep Personality case study.
Webase (Stack Breakdown). An experienced developer built this AI app-building platform in four weeks of nights and weekends. Claude Code writes the code, and Codex reviews it. Revenue is not disclosed; plans run from free to $49 a month (pricing only). The workflow is the part worth copying. Read the Webase stack breakdown.
SocialKit. A developer built this API for transcripts, comments and stats from six social platforms. He says Claude writes his code, without naming which Claude product. He reports about $3.5K a month and 110 active subscriptions (self-reported). Credit pricing, weekly SEO and free tools grew it. Read the SocialKit case study.
RankInPublic (First 100 Users). A developer built the first version in one day with Gemini 2.5 Pro. SaaS products compete in weekly community-voted tournaments. First users came from one X profile and a share-to-vote loop. Recent months reached $11K to $17K, driven by a paid directory-submission service and lead magnets. Only about $1K is subscription MRR (self-reported). Read how RankInPublic got its first users.
Tappy + Archetype. A former freelance developer built two products with Claude Code: wallet membership cards for small businesses, and an iOS personality app. Tappy's MVP took one day; Archetype took two weeks. He reports $3K to $4K a month for both (self-reported, May 2026). Distribution is his open problem, and he says so. Read the Tappy + Archetype case study.
Who or What is it? (Postmortem). A developer with 20+ years of experience built a picture quiz with Claude on a serious stack. It has one sale, from a friend testing (self-reported, September 2026). It is a paid app that no buyer has found yet. Read the postmortem.
ToneAdapt. A 21-year-old computer science student built this guitar-tone matcher with Cursor, with V1 in about a week. He validated the idea in comment sections and posted daily. He reports about $25K a month across web and iOS (self-reported, June 2026). Read the ToneAdapt case study.
WhatsScale (Security Lens). A product manager of eight years, not a developer, built this WhatsApp messaging API with Claude Code in about 60 days. At the time of the post: $0 MRR and five beta users (self-reported, January 2026). Paid plans now start at $5 a month per number. We did not test WhatsScale. Read the WhatsApp-automation security checks.
VantageKit. A long-time PM getting back into coding built this data room for pitch decks with Claude Code, part-time, in under two months. At launch: 20+ teams and 4 paying (self-reported). Revenue is not disclosed; plans start at $19 per user per month. Read the VantageKit case study.
Accordio (Pricing Teardown). A back office for freelancers: proposals, contracts and invoices. The founder rebuilt it four times: Lovable, Gemini, GPT-5, then Claude. Revenue is not disclosed. It is free until you are about to get paid; then it costs $29 to $39 a month (pricing only). Read the Accordio pricing teardown.
TradeWeave. A transportation consultant, not a developer by trade, built this trucking EDI platform with Bolt and his two sons. EDI is the standard format companies use to swap shipping orders and invoices. He reports about 8 customers, 6 of them big carriers (self-reported, via Bolt's customer story). He prices at about half a $70K-a-year incumbent. Read the TradeWeave case study.
IvaBot (Non-Dev Build). An SEO specialist of 15 years built this SEO and AI-visibility tool over nine months and at least three rewrites. ChatGPT was the teacher for about six months; Claude then did the development. The first paying transaction came in early May 2026, amount not disclosed (self-reported). Credits start at $5. Read how IvaBot was built.
Creator Buddy. An AI toolkit for X creators, built with Cursor and Windsurf. Reported: about $300K ARR (annual run rate) two weeks after the January 2025 launch, and about $25K a month by June 2025. Both are self-reported and over a year old. Three years of audience building and a 150-person beta did the selling. Read the Creator Buddy case study.
Patterns this week

- Knowing the problem beat knowing how to code. TradeWeave's founder had years of EDI work. IvaBot's had 15 years in SEO. ToneAdapt's builder knew the hobby. Their edge was the problem, not the prompt.
- Money often came from a second line. RankInPublic's big months came from a paid service, not subscriptions. Tappy + Archetype is a two-app portfolio. SocialKit has a sister product.
- Where the money did not come from: a good build alone. Who or What is it? had a 20-year developer and a serious stack, and made one sale. WhatsScale shipped in 60 days and had $0 at post time. Neither had a channel to buyers yet.
- None of this week's numbers are verified. Deep Personality does not even name its tool. Creator Buddy's figures are over a year old. Treat each as the founder's claim on the date shown.
Security takeaway of the week
The WhatsScale case study walked through ownership checks. A route like /api/sessions/:id/messages must confirm the session belongs to the caller. Otherwise customer A can send messages from customer B's number. This bug is called IDOR (insecure direct object reference). AI tools often skip the check because the app still "works". Test it with two accounts: request B's data while logged in as A, and expect a 404. Step by step: IDOR and authorization in API routes.

Key takeaway
This week's top earners knew their niche and had a way to reach it. The quiet ones built well and waited. Choose a problem you know and a place its buyers gather, then let the AI do the typing.
