Yes, some vibe-coded apps make real money. Most small ones make little, or don't say. Here are the numbers.
Vibe coding means building software by describing what you want to an AI tool and letting it write most of the code. This page collects our case studies of apps built this way, with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt and Rork.
Below you'll find every published case study with its number, where that number came from, and a link to the full story. We add new ones every week and refresh this page monthly.
How we pick and label numbers
An app makes this list only if three things are true:
- It was built with AI. The builder says AI tools wrote the code, and we link where they said it.
- There is money evidence. A revenue figure, paying users, or a live pricing page. Postmortems are the exception, because $0 is the story.
- It is live. The app's site loaded when we checked.
Every number gets one of four labels:
- Verified: a third party reads it from the billing system. TrustMRR, for example, reads 3AK Track's revenue straight from RevenueCat, its subscription billing service.
- Self-reported: the founder said it, in a post, an interview or a case study on an AI tool's own blog.
- Pricing only: the app has a live pricing page, but no revenue number is public.
- Not disclosed: no revenue number and no public price.
Why most numbers are self-reported. Few founders connect their billing to a public tracker. Interview sites like Starter Story and Indie Hackers publish what founders tell them. Some stories come from AI builders' own blogs, such as Rork, Base44, Lovable and Bolt. Those companies want to show wins. We label every one of these and show dates where we have them, because revenue changes.
We don't test the featured apps. We read public pages only: the homepage, the pricing page and the app store listing. Each case study ends with security checks for that type of app. None of them claims the featured app has a hole.
